MOTIVATION

“I think motivation has to be self-starting. I don't have the ability to motivate anybody that doesn't want to do it. I think people sometimes confuse motivation with proper direction. If that's called motivation, well, it's motivation, but I don't look at it quite like that.” –Bill Parcells

“You will also come to realize that everyone needs to be motivated differently. There is no specific formula...motivating people must be a flexible and versatile process.”
 -Mike Krzyzewski
“Everybody on the bus feeds off one another’s excitement, believe and commitment to the team. When we motivate each other, our bus usually ends up at a great destination."
 -Mike Krzyzewski

“I have always maintained it is easier to motivate a team after a loss than when things are going well. When your team is on a winning streak and most of the breaks are falling your way, there is a tendency to believe that the good times will never end.” –Bo Schembechler

“My primary task is motivation.  How can I get a group motivated, not only to be their individual best, but able to become a better team.  I have always said that 'two are better than one, but only if two can act as one.'" -Mike Krzyzewski
“I think motivation is the link that makes it all possible. There isn’t anything more important.” –Dick Bennett
